Tourists in Toronto

Saturday August 30th and Sunday August 31st, Simone and I explored Toronto.

Althea was out of town so she let us spend the night at her place. We got there around 3pm and decided to relax at our apartment in the city until 6pm when we had to pay again for parking, and then we took the subway downtown. We walked from Union Station to the Ferry Dock and took the ferry to Centre Island.

I had actually never done that so it was a really cool way to see the city. We left when it was light, and by the time we headed back it was sunset and the city was all lit up. We sat there and then took the ferry back. We ate at The Fox restaurant downtown and then took the subway back to Althea’s. We watched First Wives Club and then went to bed.

I woke up Sunday at 7am to pay the parking meter and then went back to sleep. We woke up around 10am and then got ready and headed out around 11am. We stopped at ‘What a Bagel’ and got breakfast and ate outside. We walked to the subway and took it to Union Station to the game. Blue Jays vs. Yankees. It was Derek Jeter’s last game in Toronto. It was brutally hot! Luckily we got some shade after a while. The innings were extremely boring until around the 6th where the Blue Jays got two home runs in a row! We left before the last inning ended to avoid the crowd but we already knew the Blue Jays won. We took the train to the Eaton Centre and then to Althea’s, packed up the car, and went home.

Tomorrow is Labour Day, Simone’s last day in Canada. Everything will be closed so we’re just going to hang around the house and enjoy the day.
